You Lost Your Last Gamble and Me
I will never think twice nor will I roll the dice When it comes to my life I will take my Grannio's advice
You play the hand you're dealt when it comes to who will be your Dad - But if you bluff about a card's face value for too many years you forget you had - No Aces or King of Hearts in your original deck - But rather a worthless Joker-So Wild and Mad...
You can ask yourself why for another 20 years but you'll never understand how a Joker has no fears...
Not about losing his kids, his freedom nor his wife- Why should he care or support them No matter how many times they saved his life?
When you're a wild card like him you always put yourself first above your family and friends They're not important of course... Except when you NEED THEM - Then they're not such a curse...
They owe you anything you ask even if they have to empty their purse... To save The Joker from his latest tricks - No Matter How Many Times His Wild Ways Lead to DUI, Jail, Fines Or Failing To Be a Father...
They Must Accept Reality Where A Child Pays... The Perpetual Price - For The Present Their Parents Gave Them - A Gift From God Not Man - It's Called The Right To Life...
I didn't ask to be born - nor to have you for My Dad But I'll Be Damned If I Didn't Run To Your Rescue No MATTER WHEN, WHERE, OR HOW BAD - Your Predicaments REPEATEDLY Proved To Be...
I'd Hide My Tears And Swallow My Fears But I NEVER WALKED AWAY OR LEFT YOU HANGING NOT ONCE IN MORE THAN 20 YEARS...
You'd Fill My Mind With Reasons Why... You Got Arrested or Didn't Come See Me There Was Always A New Lie - To Make Me Believe It Wouldn't Happen Again
Your Promises Lasted For A Week or A Month... But They Were Broken So Many Times - That I Stopped Listening or Believing - You And Your Endless List of Lines...
I Loved You Because You Were My Dad THE ONLY FATHER I'D EVER HAVE I Wanted To Stop Hurting So Bad And I Put My Faith In You...
Foolishly Believing That You'd Find A Way To Show Me The Same Unconditional Love and Support Somehow... Some Way... Some Day...

Key Largo - Frater Albertus
Key Largo:The fans turn lazily in front of the doorThey open wide showing mangroves galoreAn egret in the everglades stalks its preyHaltingly it walks along its wayOn another bright and sunny dayA woman's floppy hat shades her beauty not so brittleThe silken scarf that holds the hat flutters just a littleShe pauses in the threshold of the doorSurveying what she's looking forShe is looking straight at meHer beauty flaunted all to see.'Where are you from?' while noticing I had a frownOn the other couch she elegantly sits downIn the small hotel lobby bar'A city north and very far.
Truth is stranger than fiction according to many people who have seen what happens around me and to them, on many occasions. Sometimes I have had others affect me in the same way.
Live For Today...
Isn't that what they say?But what does that mean? There's no definition that mayanswer that question..
It's dark, it's cold, its' just six thirty, thoughts of sleep still dull my brain,As I huddle down, inside my coat,a commuter clone, just waiting for a train.Insidious rain, just drizzling down, through weak light of creeping dawn,Paper sandwich bags and old coffee cups, blowing past, look so forlorn.
Three Poems: The Monkey Man of Lima, Plus Two More
What Hides behind the Minute? What hides behind the minute? It seems, no one really knows; How many times will we wakeup, To count the minutes gone? The rose was dead when I arrived; The sword, was rusty and dull; The window curtain was open, And there was music in the hall.Oh lovely minute, where art thou? One, is not like the other-: Whirling in an earthly orbit, As the boundless world discovers.

The Plane from Iquitos [1959-Part One]
Iquitos & the Amazon Part OneIt was December 2, l959, I was sitting on a small prop-plane leaving Iquitos, Peru for a trip down the Amazon toward the opening, the mouth of the mighty Amazon,--to Manaus. As we flew low one could see the waters of the Amazon, the city always impressed me, but more from this birds-eye view, you could see the mighty river in its squid like form, with all it tentacles [contributories: waters linking to the river].
A Ship to Remember
Two Poems, with Figurative Language
Says Mr. Dennis Siluk, when asked to review his poetry somewhat, for he hesitates all the time when I ask him to so; I can tell you.
The Crusader: A Search for the Virtue Inside (an excerpt of an Epic Poem)
On through the darkness she searches the bones Seeking the hand of her love; Deep in the stillness, the maid searches on, Petitioning help from above. Onward she gropes through the flesh and the blood Of the warriors disfigured and maimed; She carries no hope for the life of her love - For naught but his body she came.
House of the Goblin [Part Two of Three/with notes]
House of the Goblin [Part Two of Three]Here is where, where the air is stillAnd the mountains shadows disappear! Here is where, unnumbered spirits dwellWhere harp and memory expire?Where the rainbow-leaps, from itsStoreroom-keep, and cries; And the sands along the oceans coastEcho then die?as in sleep?;And where enchantment turns into ghouls!..
Two Poems on the Traditions of Peru [in English and Spanish]
Atahualpa's Game [Peruvian]Sometimes, it's not wise To share your wisdom ---as did, Atahualpa (The Inca King) in the Game of chess; thereafter, He was condemned to death.6/6/05 #713Note: Atahualpa, was the most famous of the Inca Kings, in the 16th century of Peru, I do relieve, and was held for ransom by the Spaniards.
Storm Rising along the Lima Coast
Storm Rising along the Lima Coast [Summer of 2002]?wind was blowing furiously It never left for a moment Bursts of fury I found it difficult to keep My feet placed, thus, I clung to my knees For one blissful moment I could not now disguise it From myself Some subtle feeling Manifested itself Then the current drew Sharply away from me With her mystery-Back out into the open sea Yet-, still it roared back at me! It was an expressed release It made my head swim I noticed it kept-step With my exultation!?#761 7/14/2005Notes: There are mysteries to the sea, at times it seems as to have its own mind, its own character; as if nature was plugged into all that exist. Earth itself being an entity with its own lively soul.
I am not the one I was before yesterday.I cannot go back.
I Shall Wait...
I Shall Wait..
My hero, my best friend, my Grannio (a.k.a my Grandmother)
She raised me like I was her own daughter from the day I was born 32 years ago.She loved me like nobody else has ever loved me in my life.
Since Youve Been Gone...
My life has changedin so so many waysIt seems to always bein a state of disarray..
A World That Doesnt Care
War bombs may explode demolishing man and land. Hurricanes may devastate and leave us entirely bare.
