Natural Gas Cost Increases; Want to know more?
A Thorn in the Side for American Business and Consumers - Natural Gas Shortages and Cost Issues Natural Gas Issues and costs are tough on Americans and American Business. There have been many incentives for businesses and industries to use Natural Gas to assist in clean burning fuel. Natural Gas is a big issue. The DOE has some interesting studies on this; http://eia.doe.gov/emeu/mecs/trends/number_estab.htm . I received an email from the DOE. And Stephanie was good enough to point us to these sites: http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/mecs/mecs98/datatables/contents.html#fuel What this shows is that many industries will be adversely affected. This will hurt the United States position in the world markets for products and services putting us at a disadvantage. Also it will mean higher costs and mean increased inflation for consumers and many jobs lost by companies unable to compete. The worst part of it is the incentives previously given to businesses to switch to cleaner burning fuel and now those who complied and followed the responsible cause due to political pressure from the left are now the ones getting burned. Why? Due to the increased bureaucracy, regulations, NIMBY, who made the promises in the first place. This is nearly as bad a play from the liberal left as the eco-terrorists destroying buildings and putting tons of CO2 and combusted material into the atmosphere? Now that is special. What a contradiction cause a fire to stop pollution? Can anybody see what we are doing to our infrastructures which are already over taxed? Science Fiction by Arthur C Clarke It is difficult to have a discussion with someone about science fiction if they are not familiar with the works of Arthur C Clarke. The concepts are not too awfully difficult to understand and not nearly as complex as reading Issac Asimov for the science fiction novice and anyone can enjoy Mr. June 2005: Weather Forecasts for Vacationers If Johannes Kepler, the renowned 17th century astronomer and discoverer of the planetary laws of motion, could speak from the heavenlies, he might have a few words of wisdom to share with the National Weather Service. Although Kepler's name is not normally associated with meteorology, he was quite the weather forecaster in his day. Hibernate Enemy with Gas Cloud Scientists have discovered chemicals, which cause humans to go into a hibernation type state similar to our mammal cousins the bear. This discovery has many killer applications from first responders slowing the bio-systems of those who are seriously injured to long-term space flight or even stopping a civil unrest or riot, which has gotten out of control. Methods of Improving Boiler Efficiency With the rising cost of fuel prices, industries that use steam boilers for heating or power generation are hard pressed to operate at peak efficiencies. While steam consumption, leakages, and other heat transmission losses can contribute to the overall energy bill, this article focuses on the heart of the steam generator - the boiler. Rodent Populations are Half within 3 miles of a Railroad Track About a month ago, I was helping a friend collect meteorites. We picked out a grid pattern and started walking six to 9 feet apart with metal detectors looking for the iron-nickel meteorites which are quite common here on the Earth's surface The grid is large and takes many days to even make a dent in it and each time we are able to collect some meteorites. Electromagnetism, The Universe, And You An electric current produces a magnetic field. This is the principle of the electric motor - varying electric currents moving along wires make magnets with drive shafts spin around in circles. The Bill Clinton Neuron And The Sweat Neuron In the world of science, there is excited speculation about recent discoveries of individual neurons in the brain, with striking capabilities. They had discovered a neuron, which fired on recognition of just one special face. The Ecology of Environmentalism The concept of "nature" is a romantic invention. It was spun by the likes of Jean-Jacques Rousseau in the 18th century as a confabulated utopian contrast to the dystopia of urbanization and materialism. What do you do when you are stuck in the sand? Anyone who has ever raced off road or owned a 4X4, dune buggy or ATV understands these issues. Flying a Beach Ball UFO Recently some NASA Scientists were able to fly a MAV; Micro Air Vehicle using a laser to power it and then chase it around the room with the laser beam? Sounds like kids stuff, yet is has some incredible applications for other things. For instance we could use Whispering Windows and Talking Glass Technologies to propel helium filled beach ball. A Tuned Bio-Field and a New Definition of Consciousness: Part 1 I rarely hear about the role of the Heart or the power of Love as relevant determinants of human health or spirituality. This was particularly highlighted at a recent energy psychology conference in which a keynote presentation on the topic of Enlightenment seemed to focus almost entirely on achieving altered states of consciousness. Precognition Shock to Prevent Bullet Strike It is a pretty well known fact and has been proven that the body seems to pre-adjust to changes in advance of events by a second or two. For instance there have been studies of test subjects with finger sensors, which would show the subjects pulse or adrenaline spiked right before they were to be shocked. UAVs and The Future Enhancements of Tele-Robotics Today we have already available UAVs, which will soon have the capacity of operating together in swarms, controlled from another nearby aircraft.
